Common migrant to coastal mudflats, mangroves, estuaries, water bodies with well-vegetated fringes and occasionally wet grasslands. 91 cm. Distribution: widespread across much of Americas, Eurasia, Africa and Australia; most northern populations migrate to winter in the tropics.
