Common in primary and secondary forests, forest edges, scrub, old plantations, occasionally in gardens and mangroves. 13 cm. Distribution: Himalayan foothills and NE India, S China, mainland Southeast Asia, Thai-Malay peninsula, Sumatra.

Also known as lesser grey cuckooshrike or dark grey cuckooshrike, is a species of cuckooshrike found in South to Southeast Asia.  Breeds in deciduous and broad-leaved evergreen forest but winters in open forest, groves, singly or in pairs.

Founds in forests. 22 cm. Common in SE Asia: Rare to locally fairly common breeding resident from lowlands up to mid hills, mainly in dry lowlands.
