Frequents a variety of wooded habitats, from wet primary rainforest in the Sunda subregion to deciduous forests and secondary growth in eastern Indonesia; found from the coast into lower montane elevations. 17 cm. Distribution: Oriental region: widespread and locally fairly common resident in Sumatra, Kalimantan, Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara east to Flores.

Found along forest edges, in rural cultivated areas and mature gardens; often seen near the coast and on off-shore islands. 14 cm. Distribution: South-east Asia; widespread and fairly common resident in the Sunda subregion, including most offshore islands and parts of Wallacea.

Frequents forest clearings, open regrown areas, fields and plantations; often found in tall grasses near roads and villages, its predominate habitat throughout Indonesia; occurs from coast into lower hills. 11 cm. Distribution: Indonesia and Timor Leste; widespread and locally common resident throughout most of Wallacea.

Found in open woodlands, mangroves and cultivation; also occurs in inland forest to 1,400 m. 11 cm. Distribution: Oriental region; widespread and fairly common resident on Sumatra, Java, Bali Sumbawa and Flores.

Note: This is the only photograph I have been able to take of this bird so far.
