Found in open country, also in coastal marshes, fields, cultivated areas and low scrub. 11 cm. Range: Sundra subregion: locally common resident on Sumatra, Java and Bali.

An adaptable species which has invaded disturbed habitats, from its original haunts on forest edges and coastal woodlands; now a garden bird found in every West Indonesian village, from lowland up to 1,500 m. 20 cm. Range: South-east Asia: common resident in Sumatra, Kalimantan, Java and Bali, also on Lombok and South Sulawesi.

Also known as Yellow-bellied Sunbird. Found in open woodlands and disturbed habitats. 11 cm. Range: oriental region and east into Australia; widespread and common resident throughout the Indonesian archipelago.

Found in all types of open country, cultivated fields, grasslands and gardens, from beach up to 1,800 m. 11 cm. Range: Indonesian endemic; Widespread and common resident on Java, Bali and Lombok; has also expanded into south Sumatra.

Also known as Linchi Swiflet.Found over forest and open country, as well as wetlands and cultivation. 10 cm. Range: Sundra sub-region; common on Java, Bali and Lombok, local resident in montane Sumatra.

Also known as Chinese Turtle-dove, Indian Turtle-dove and Spotted Turtle-dove. 30 cm. Found in all types of cleared areas, dry woodlands, cultivation and urban areas. Range across oriental regions, introduced to Australia, Hawaii, and Fili; common through Sundra region and introduced or expanded to Eastern Indonesia.
