RED-BROWED TREECREEPER

13.5-16 cm. Habitat: limbs, loose bark of trunks, upper branches in tall eucalyptus forests, mainly in hilly and mountainous country and where these emerge into deep rain forested gullies, to sea-level. Range: se. Aust., from se. Q Tewantin s. through forested highlands and coastal NSW, e. and n. of Melbourne, w. to Wombat State Forest, but not Otways.

25-28 cm. Found in drier forests/woodlands/scrubs with leaf-litter, branches, rocks, tussocks, on sunny side of dry ridges. Range: se Aust., from s. of Rockhampton (Q) to e. Tas, and se. SA;inland to Carnarvon Ra. NP (Q); Mt Kaputar-Warrumbungle NPs-Grenfell (NSW); inland to ne. Vic., w. to Grampians NP; also Fleurieu Pen.-s. Mt Lofty Ras. (SA).
