Also known as Palm Dove, Sengal Dove, Little Brown Dove. Range Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East to the Indian Subcontinent, introduced to Australia, established around Perth and Fremantle. . Found in dry scrub and semi-desert habitats.

Also known as Ring-necked Dove, and Half-collared Dove. 25-27 cm. Widespread and abundant in East and southern Africa, range includes most of Southern Africa except a thin strip on the west coast. Avoids forests but frequents most other habitat, including deserts where water is found.
