Also known as Orange-fronted Barbet. 21 cm. A forest barbet, primarily found in forests and forest edges, or nearby wooded cultivation; from the lowlands to 2,500 m elevation, but more numerous in hills above 600m. Indonesian endemic, fairly common resident on Java and Bali only.

An open country bird found in open fields and scrub, often near rural roads and villages. 25 cm. Range: Oriental region, east into Papua New Guinea; a locally common resident on Sumatra, Java and Bali; uncommon in parts of Kalimantan and Nusa Tenggara.
