Also known in Australia as Indian Myna. In New Zealand a locally abundant Asian introduction, covering most of the North Island. 24 cm. Found in parks, gardens, orchards, farmland and sometimes on forest margins.

Subspecies melanosternus. Found in forest edges, trees in open areas and villages and town gardens. 25 cm.  Common breeding resident throughout.

Also known as Indian Myna. Common resident of scrub, grassland, parkland and urban areas. 25 cm. Distribution: Parts of Middle East and Central Asia, east to Indian sub-continent, Southeast Asia, and Thai-Maly Peninsula; widely introduced worldwide.

COMMON MYNA

Also known as Indian myna or Mynah. It is 23-25 cms. The myna was introduced to Australia from Asia in the 1860s. It is now widely considered a pest. It inhabits urban areas and agricultural areas. Found in an area around Laura/Mossman in northern Queensland, Brisbane, and from the NSW north coast down into most of Victoria. Found in pairs and loose flocks.
