Also known as Rufous-taied Bush-hen, Rufous-tailed waterhen and just Bush-hen. Found in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Australia and the Solomon Islands. In Australia found in coastal Top End, down east coast from Cape Yourk to about Port Macquarie. Habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest. Very much a skulker.
