Found in tropical, temperate grasslands, with rank cover; open woodlands/scrublands; cereal crops, lucerne, sparse sugar cane. Ranges across n. and e. Australian mainland, w. to Eyre Pen. (SA), s. and w. coast to c. Shark Bay(WA)
