WHITE-BROWED SCRUBWREN


99     WHITE-BROWED SCRUBWREN       Sericornis frontalis

Also called Spotted scrub wren. 11-13 cm. Range is down east coast from Cooktown, across the southern coast and up west coast to Shark Bay. Found in the undergrowth of forests, woodlands, scrub, heath, bracken, gardens.

NOTE: there are three subspecies of the White-browed scrubwren: Sericornis frontalis frontalis, found in coastal eastern Australia from NSW/Q border around to Adelaide; Sericornis frontalis laevigaster, known as buff-breasted scrubwren, found in coastal Q; Sericornis frontalis maculatus, known as spotted scrubwren, found in coastal southern Australia from Adelaide to Shark Bay.
