Coastal bird found along open wetlands and tidal shorelines along the Javan coast. 15 cms. Distribution: Indonesian endemic: Uncommon resident on Java and nearby Kangean Island only; status on Bali uncertain.
NOTE; There is little information about its exact status and breeding ecology.
