Found off west coast of WA and into Indian Ocean; main breeding population on Houtman Albrolhos Is; small population occurs on Ashmore Reef. Can forage near breeding islands or well out to sea.

Also known as Grey Noddy. 25-30 cm; wingspan 50-60 cm. Found on oceanic islands and surrounding seas. Range: tropical and subtropical Pacific Ocean, incl. Lord Howe and Norfolk Is. Casual alive or beach washed e. coast Aust., usually after storms.

Also known as Love Tern and White Noddy. 30-33 cm, wingspan c. 76 cm. Found on oceanic islands; tropical and sub-tropical seas. Range: Norfolk, Lord Howe and Kermadec Is. Casual coastal e. Aust. from se Vic. to ne Q, summer-autumn-winter after storms.

Also known as White-capped Noddy. 33-36 cm, wingspan c. 65 cm. Found over tropical, subtropical oceans; woodlands on islands; cays. Range: inhabits regular island colonies (some huge) in e. Aust. on Capricorn and Bunker Groups, s. Gt Barrier; Norfolk I, possibly Lord Howe Is., also Quoin Is. (ne Q) and Coral Sea. Adults sedentary, young dispersive.
