Restricted to large blocks of intact mallee in se Aust; population centred on Gluepot Reserve (SA). 26 mm. Very rare and were predicted to become extinct through interbreeding with Yellow-throated miner but may be holding their own.

Also known as White-rumped Miner and Dusky's Miner. 25-27.5 cm. Range mainland Australia except coastal e. and se. Just., Cape York Peninsular, e.coast NT, driest deserts. Habitat is drier woodlands, scrubland, grassland with flowering shrubs, drier coastal scrubs, banksia-woodlands, heaths, golf courses and gardens.

Also known as Micky or Soldierbird. 24-27 cm. Range down east coast and inland Australia to Adelaide and east two thirds of Tasmania. Found in open forest, woodlands, coastal banksias, paperbarks, parks, golf courses.
