The Graceful Honeyeater was split from the Cryptic Honeyeater in 2019. It ranges from Cape York, north of Cooktown up into southern New Guinea.

Found in mature mulga, Acacia aneura, woodlands; open mulga with spinifex; tall open scrub dominated by other acacias, eremophilas; sandhills with red mulga. 10.5-12 cm. Range: inland Aust., from ne SA to Pilbara (WA); n. to c. Frewena-Wave Hill (NT); s. through nw. SA to Gt Victoria Desert-Wanjarri-Yalgoo (WA). Regular in mulga belt n. of Alice Springs. Rare, little known; nomadic.

Found in rainforests, paperbarks; eucalyptus woodlands on sandstone escarpments; hills. 19 cm. Range: nominate race n and w escarpments of Arnhem Land Plateau (NT). Race fordiana: nw Kimberley (WA). Locally common.

Aust. and islands: from Top End (NT), s. to Victoria R. Downs-Katherine-Roper R.; e. on Gulf coast to w. and ne Cape York Pen. (Q), s to c. Lakefield NP. Common.

Found near water; paperbarks, mangroves, scrublands, grassed woodlands; river red gum thickets; gardens, street trees. 13-14 cm. Range: coastal n. Aust.; from c. Broome (WA) to Cape York Pen. (n. to Embley Ra., c. 80 kms inland of Weipa); inland part of Atherton Tableland, s. to Ayr (Q); casual s. to Gympie-Fraser Is. Common in n. patchy e. coast. Blossom nomad.

Found in coastal scrubs,adjacent woodlands; mangroves; trees on suburban waterfronts; streets, gardens of coastal towns. 18-21 cm. Range: coastal ne. Q and islands, from Cape York s. to Halifax Bay. In Townsville-Cardwell region (Q), interbreeds with Mangrove Honeyeater. Locally common, sedentary.

Also known as Brush-throated Honeyeater. Only bird endemic to Cape York Pen; Range: s. to Archer R. on w. coast, Helenvale on e. coast. Found in paperbarks, tropical heathlands, vine scrubs, eucalypt woodlands. Fairly common. Locally nomadic.

Found in paperbark woodlands, waterside thickets, blossoming eucalypt woodlands, mangroves; ventures far from cover; perches dead trees. 11-13 cm. Range: coastal ne Q. and islands: from Cape York (Q) s. on w. coast to Archer R.; on e. coast s. to c. Bowen; inland to Coen-Atherton Tableland. Common, patchier in higher, drier parts of range. Migratory, or seasonally nomadic.

Found in rainforests, monsoon forests, vine scrubs, eucalypt woodlands, watercourses, mangroves, bananas, cultivation, lantana, gardens; mostly below c. 400m. Range: ne. Queensland from Cape York s. to Aurukun R. on w. coast; Townsville on e. coast in lower foothills, coastal islands. Nomadic.

Found in rainforest above c. 600 m 16-18 CM; lower eucalypt woodlands in winter. Endemic to Australia. Range limited to Eungella NP-Mt Dalrymple State Forest on Clarke Range., 80 kms w. of Mackay (Q).
