Also known as Carnaby's or White-tailed Black-cockatoo. 53-60 cm. Endemic to the sw. WA, from c. lower Murchison River to c. Israelite Bay in se., inland to L. Moore-Meriden-Norseman; breeds in n. Darling Ras. and wheatbelt then disperses coastward in summer-autumn.  Found in open forests, woodlands, scrubland, wheatbelt, and sand plain areas; taller, denser karri, exotic pine plantations, gardens.

Range se. mainland Australia, from mid n. coast, Hunter Region and c. Tablelands (NSW) s. to w. Vict. ; inland to Merriwa-Bathurst-Wagga (NSW) e. and c. Vict. and adjacent se. SA.

50-64 cm. Found in tall open forests, woodlands, grasslands, scrubland, floodplains, river margins, wetlands, river red gums on watercourses. Range sw WA up as far as inland from Shark Bay, small pocket bottom of SA/Vic border, very central of Australia, across north from Kimberley, Top End, most of Queensland and across into NSW to Bourke.

Found in rain forests, woodlands, pastoral country, crops and parks. 44-51 cm. Popular, well-known Australian cocky.

The Yellow-tailed Black-cockatoo is 55 -65 cm. Found Tasmania, Victoria except N-W corner, SE South Australia, Eastern half NSW, and SE quarter of Queensland. Temperate forests, eucalyptus forests, woodlands and scrub.
