Mainly a coastal species found in dry, open woodlands, often near the beach; also seen in cultivated areas, casuarinas and further inland along forest edges. 18 cm. Range: southeast Asia and Australasia into southern Australia; local, common resident throughout Indonesia.

Located over most of NSW and Queensland, most of NT except small pocket in sw, along WA coast from Shark Bay and across the top, small area top of Victoria. found in trees along rivers, besides lakes, wetlands, mangroves and paperbarks. 16-18 cms.
