SPOTTED DOVE

Also known as Chinese Turtle-dove, Indian Turtle-dove and Spotted Turtle-dove. 30 cm. Found in all types of cleared areas, dry woodlands, cultivation and urban areas. Range across oriental regions, introduced to Australia, Hawaii, and Fili; common through Sundra region and introduced or expanded to Eastern Indonesia.

Also known as Chinese or Indian turtle-dove, or Spotted dove. 28-32 cm. Introduced into Australia in 1860s. Ranges down the east coast of the mainland from Cooktown to Adelaide, Pockets in WA and Tasmania. Found inn urban areas, around farms, wheat silos, agricultural lands and open woodland.
