Migrant found in secondary forests, old plantations, mangroves, open scrub, grasslands and parkland. 19 cm. Breeds across C Siberia, east to N China, Korea, Japan, and Kamchatka and south to E Tibetan Plateau; winters in Indian sub-continent, S China, and most of Southeast Asia, east to Sulawesi and Lesser Sundas.

Found in open country with trees or bushes. 18-19 cm. Brown (L c cristatus) is a common winter migrant; 'Philippine' (L c luciorensis) is a rare but regular winter migrant.

Found in open country, cultivation, gardens, secondary growth, forest edges. 19-20 cm. Breeds in temperate Asia and migrate to tropical Asia.; vagrant to Christmas and Cocos Islands.
