18-24 cm. Found in mulga-eucalypts, other acacia scrubs, on stony ground; tea tree/mallee/grevillia on rocky hillocks. Range: sw Queensland, s. to c. White Cliffs-Cobar (NSW). Western race was recently separated into Western Quail-thrush.
