Found in rainforest, vine scrubs and margins; eucalypt forest/woodlands; clearings in secondary growth; paperbarks; timber on watercourses; native figs; other trees with fruits; plantations, gardens. Range: coastal e. Aust.: breeds s. to Nambucca Heads-Port Macquarie (NSW); casual Hunter Valley. Summer breeding migrant in se Q.-ne. NSW; nomadic in response to ripening of rainforest fruit. Uncommon Q; rare NSW.
